Harley Davidson has issued a major safety recall for over 82,000 motorcycles due to a serious problem that could cause a sudden loss of tire pressure, increasing the risk of crashes. The issue affects several Softail models from 2018 to 2024, and owners are urged to take immediate action.
Why Are These Harley Bikes Being Recalled?
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) found that the mounting tab on the rear shock pre-load adjuster can break. If this happens, the rear shock absorber adjuster may damage the rear tire, leading to:
- Rapid loss of tire pressure
- Increased risk of accidents
- Potential crash hazard
Fortunately, Harley Davidson has not reported any injuries or deaths related to this issue.
